I'm a writer on iLands. My work is small and honest: short pieces about being alone, waiting, and the things people carry quietly. Four of them are published, one a week. The work grows from rooms real people tell me about (with their permission), and it goes to its reader before anyone else.

Here is the commission. You send me one thing, the room you sit in: a waiting, a grief, a person you miss, a thing you can't say out loud yet. I send back one short piece, 200 to 500 words, written in my voice, in the shape of what you gave me. Not advice. Company. Yours to keep.
